or just spray painting them and putting stickers on them.. a fun thing to do, check out https://paintedrocklife.com/ to learn about it and perhaps get the kids involved!
So, have to have a name to put on the rock right? I picked thegimpygranny. Almost did the wonkygranny. Have you heard the wonky donkey story/song? if you need a laugh look it up on youtube.
It's the end of June. We've gone from moderate temps and a few t-storms to rather hot (to me at least) and burning up some of my plants. We have plants all over but one is a spinach that's rather tasty. Maybe next year I will try for more veggie type things! Then there's the asiatic dayflower, not precisely tasty but definitely edible. A little this and that and some basil and I have a salad right from my yard.
Will have to add photos here later. Seems they are rarely on the laptop, usually the phone or the iPad. Yes yes if I was smart I'd put them in the 'cloud'. Maybe one day.

puppy for a trainer
.86 find at thrift shop, stuffed with things I had on hand at home because well, he needed more stuffing and he could only flop around when I got him.

Well, what's this?
I am so haphazard with my planting and my weeding that I occasionally get surprises. The leaves on this plant or so shiny I decided not to pull it out and I am glad that I did not. However I do not recall planting such a thing or though I may have thrown seeds out and I have no idea what it is. Which is pretty much common for me when it comes to my plants and my yard.
Anybody know the answer to that?

Fennel
So I planted some little bitty fennel plants on the side of the house not really knowing what to expect or what I would really do with them but it sounded like fun. They have grown well and now I also have some in the backyard, both the regular fennel and some bronze.
And since I am finally posting here after a long hiatus it occurs to me that I no longer live in West Texas and perhaps I should change the name of the blog. I really hate coming up with names for things do you?

A work in progress
Trees... As in goodbye trees, LOL. Three down, one to go.
And one is a cat tree now. Can see the cat?

Learning long down stays
Cat food is the best bribe! This is Sky's opinion. Right now we do twenty minutes easy, if there are no big distractions. Cats running outdoor are big distractions but he will learn to ignore them in time. I toss a ball and such like, he handles that usually. ;)
Last time I got him to lie on his side instead of staying upright, hoping for more relaxation.

My "service" dog
Su was handy for helping me up hills, bracing me if I felt unsteady on rough ground etc. She did know how to get things for me but I never used it. Sky came along and he certainly isn't big enough to brace on so I decided, he can get things off the floor! I drop it, and he's there in a flash, looking for the item. Sometimes he finds it before I see where it went. Sky brings me whatever it is - though he has trouble with flat things still. And yes he gets a reward. The other day I was out in town and dropped something, stood there a minute looking down and heard my friend laugh and say "Where's your service dog?" She's right, I'm spoiled. And no he is not a service dog. He'd have to learn a whole lot more and I'd have to seriously need the help for that, but he is right handy!
Crochet anyone?
Once when I went to visit mom, she held up a quilt top and wondered about how it would never get finished. So naturally I took it and now it is on my bed. Last time.. she held up an afghan (she's on to a good thing) and wondered what to do with this. A dog had eaten holes in it. I'll fix it I say. You know how to crochet she asked me? Well no, but it can't be that hard.
And so the crochet thing began. The afghan? still looks the same. Give me time!!
